[Family Policy Alliance Logo <[link removed] Policy Alliance>] Some states are going backward – is yours? [Family in counseling <[link removed]>] Dear John , There’s been so much good news coming from states across the country, and you’ve been a big part of those wins for protecting children. From girls’ sports to age verification for objectionable online content to stopping sterilizing procedures on children in the name of “gender transition,” you’ve been making a difference through your partnership with Family Policy Alliance. But all is not good news . Right here in our home state of Colorado, there’s a deeply troubling piece of legislation moving through the legislature— [HB 25-1312 <[link removed]>] . This bill represents one of the most radical efforts we’ve seen to undermine parental rights, restrict free speech, and elevate government authority over the family . Even more alarming, this bill would silence those who offer guidance rooted in faith, biology or reality—that no one can truly change their sex, no matter what “treatments” they have. Parents who lovingly express concerns about their child’s confusion could be accused of harmful behavior. Pastors, teachers, and counselors who uphold biblical truths about sex and gender may find themselves targeted simply for speaking with compassion and conviction—even going so far as to criminalize using a child’s birth name and pronouns. This bill threatens freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and parental authority —all things Family Policy Alliance holds dearly and works to uphold each and every day—for our own families and, especially, for yours. If you think this type of bill couldn’t happen in your state, please think again. Colorado used to be a common-sense state, but over the span of the past several elections, has marched into lockstep with states like California and New York. If you don’t want this to happen in your state as well, now is the time to take a stand. I urge you to join with us through prayer, sharing this information with others, and taking the [pledge to “pray, vote, and engage” <[link removed]>] in every election. Every election has consequences, but when the Body of Christ unites, we can protect parents’ rights, children’s innocence, and the freedom to speak the truth in love. For future generations,
