Dear Friends,

Today is World Oceans Day, a day created to encourage global action in the fight to protect our oceans. We at Sea Shepherd treat every day as World Oceans Day, and with your continued support, we remain committed to defending marine life throughout the year.

Last year, your donations went further than ever and helped us to conduct 33 direct action campaigns in oceans around the world - our most successful year yet.

For a limited time, you now have the opportunity to double your impact <[link removed]> and help us to achieve even more for the oceans. Thanks to the generosity of Claudine Chapuis and another anonymous donor, we can match your donation up to a maximum of $ 165,000. We sincerely appreciate your support in meeting this challenge!

Captain's Log

We are pleased to provide you with the latest edition of our Captain’s Log, Sea Shepherd’s annual activity report. From the coastal waters of West Africa to Mexico’s Vaquita Refuge, our worldwide fleet were involved in a record number of campaigns over the past year, protecting many vulnerable marine species from the threats of illegal fishing and ocean pollution.

Some of our key victories include:

Anti-Whaling Campaigns

A win for the whales! No whaling took place in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary or Icelandic waters this past year.

Operation Milagro

Sea Shepherd removed over 1,000 pieces of illegal fishing gear from Mexico’s Vaquita Refuge, the home of the most endangered marine mammal in the world.

Operation Jairo

Our land-based crews protected nesting sea turtles and their hatchlings on the beaches of Nicaragua, giving even the tiniest of lives a fighting chance at survival.

Operation Clean Waves

Sea Shepherd crews participated in the removal of 34 tons of marine debris and illegal fishing gear from Costa Rica’s world-renowned national park, Cocos Island.
