Dear John,
We are excited to share that Dr. George “Mac” McCarthy [[link removed]], president and CEO of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, will deliver the closing plenary at our upcoming Policy. Practice. Power Conference [[link removed]]. Since taking the Lincoln Institute’s helm in 2014, Dr. McCarthy has expanded its capacity, relevance, and impact. Under his leadership, the Institute established a partnership with Claremont Lincoln University; developed state-of-the-art technology that tells parcel-level stories of land use with unprecedented detail; and increased its global reach through work in Africa, Asia, and Europe.
During his session, titled Hope Starts at Home: A Call to Build a More Equitable Future, Dr. McCarthy will reflect on his own successful career to address the question of where our sector should go next. Attendees will leave this session with renewed optimism and a strengthened commitment to advancing innovative housing solutions.
Over the course of this year’s convening, conference guests will explore innovative housing policies and community-led solutions to our nation’s ongoing housing affordability crisis. Our new Learning Lab sessions will examine the challenges and opportunities that come with operating a shared equity housing program. And the option of a bus tour to Capitol Hill, a local community tour with Habitat DC-NOVA, or a visit to the National Museum of African American History and Culture will further enhance the overall conference experience.
