Next week, we are meeting with people who can help drive global climate
action this year. Activists will deliver demands to the President of the
UN climate talks, COP30.

Add your name to the call for a fair switch from fossil fuels to
renewables, funding for it, and a seat at the negotiating table for
Indigenous Peoples.

Things aren’t great, John. Governments — in the U.S. and around
the world — are approving new oil and gas projects.^1 And the rise of the
right has made oil corporations even bolder. This is all fueling the
climate crisis.

But we are not backing down. We have a plan targeting the Presidency of
COP30 in Brazil. COP30 is where world leaders will make key decisions on
climate action. The COP30 President has the power to shape the outcome of
the climate negotiations.

This is our chance to speak to someone who can actually help drive global
change — regardless of who's in the White House. But we need numbers to
show the scale of support from around the world. That’s why I’m asking for
your voice, John. Will you sign our petition to demand bold
climate action?

Activists will take our demands to Brazil to the Presidency of COP30.
We’re calling for a fair switch from fossil fuels to renewables, funding
for it, and a seat at the negotiating table for Indigenous Peoples. We’ll
be delivering it next week.

COP30 must be a turning point. Tripling renewables by 2030 won’t be enough
without a clear plan to phase out fossil fuels. The science is clear — no
new coal, oil, or gas projects.

This petition is just the start of a big push from our global movement
targeting the Brazilian COP Presidency. While activists deliver our
signatures in Brazil, we’ll be working behind the scenes, rallying a
coalition of organizations who will join our call in the news.

The Brazil COP Presidency says they’re on our side. But to have an impact,
we need as many voices as possible from all over the world to drown out
the oil lobby. Your voice is a crucial part of that. Let’s end fossil fuel
dependence and build a just, sustainable future — are you in,
John?

In solidarity and defiance, Katrina for 350.org

P.S. If you’re wondering why we’re in Brazil, it’s because COP30 is in
Brazil, and we’re training activists there to speed up the energy
transition in their communities. [ [link removed] ]It’s called the Renew Our Power
Gathering and you can join online.
