Jefferson Griffin is STILL trying to throw out more than 65,000 valid ballots to overturn the North Carolina Supreme Court election results in his favor.

Despite two recounts confirming pro-choice champion Justice Allison Riggs won, Griffin refuses to concede, and he's doing everything he can to change the results of the election in a blatantly corrupt partisan power grab.

At EMILYs List, this hits close to home — our Communications intern, Sidney Curtis, is one of the votes Jefferson Griffin is trying to throw out!

Griffin's campaign never properly notified Sidney or the other 65,000+ voters how or why their ballots were being challenged. Instead, these voters received a postcard from the North Carolina Republican Party instructing them to scan a QR code, which takes them to a partisan website where they have to sift through all 65,000+ of the protested votes to find their name. This is purposeful: Griffin is sowing confusion and frustration in his baseless attempt to overturn the election.

Just this week, the North Carolina Court of Appeals ruled that every single one of these votes should be recounted and verified within 15 days OR be thrown out — setting a dangerous precedent for Republicans to challenge any election they don't win going forward. Justice Riggs then appealed the case to the North Carolina Supreme Court, who has temporarily blocked the Court of Appeals' ruling.

John, we knew this would be a hard fight, and we're in it for the long haul.

North Carolinians elected Justice Riggs, and we won't allow corrupt politicians to circumvent the will of the people. Now, it's our job to make sure Justice Riggs' team has the resources they need to defend her win in court.
