MAGA Republicans in Congress are once again trying to force through a flagrantly anti-democratic voter suppression bill.

This misleadingly-named legislation is called the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act.

But it is not about protecting elections at all. It is about making it harder for people Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans don’t like to participate in our democracy.

• They claim it would stop non-citizens from voting in federal elections. But it is already illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections. And there are policies in place that reliably work to prevent non-citizens from voting.

• What the bill would actually do is impose unnecessary and discriminatory burdens on millions and millions of eligible voters — including people of color, young voters, newly naturalized citizens, trans voters, veterans, immigrants, rural voters, senior citizens, and (for good measure?) women who have changed their last name.

• All in a pathetic attempt to legitimize MAGA conspiracy theories and Donald Trump’s Big Lie that the 2020 election was “stolen” from him.

The House of Representatives is voting on this anti-democratic bill TOMORROW. Take action right now and urge Congress to reject the SAVE Act.

Tell Congress:

The so-called SAVE Act doesn’t save anything but Donald Trump’s ego. But it would make it harder for millions and millions of eligible voters to exercise their fundamental right to participate in our democracy. Do not pass the anti-democratic, authoritarian SAVE Act.
