This is a longer message, but I wanted to share an update on what we’re seeing from Trump and what Democrats are doing about it. (And no, I will not be making a fundraising request at the end).

Here’s what’s been going on:

Last week, Trump’s erratic, nonsensical tariffs went into effect. This guy ran on the promise that he was going to help Americans afford their lives, but from day one, he‘s done the complete opposite. In fact, his actions are going to make people’s lives much more expensive, destroy retirement accounts, and threaten jobs. Confidence and certainty are two of the biggest things that fuel our economy. Under Trump, there’s little confidence and even less certainty.

Now, we’re seeing buyer’s remorse. We’re seeing people who voted for Trump that feel like he betrayed them. And that’s because he did. Donald Trump and the Republicans are leaving Americans behind — and it sure doesn’t seem like they even care. This is an opportunity for us as Democrats to get off the mat, get back in the fight, and show families what we stand for.

One of the reasons we’ve lost so much ground over the years is because people don’t feel like the Democratic Party is fighting for them. This is our opportunity to change that — when it’s clearer than ever that Trump and Elon Musk don’t give a damn about anybody other than the billionaires who can weather his economic meltdown.

I’ve been traveling across the country nonstop since I started this job, and what I hear over and over is this: Americans want us to fight back against Trump’s lies. They want us to offer a better alternative.

So that’s exactly what we’re doing.

While Trump has stacked his cabinet with out-of-touch billionaires, we’ve launched a People’s Cabinet, which is made up of experts, leaders, and community voices around the country who will cut through the lies to bring you reliable and accurate information.

We’ve also launched a new DNC War Room to put Republicans on the defense every single day, compete in new information spaces, and proactively challenge what Trump is doing.

And third, we’re focused on organizing everywhere. I’ve said from day one that if we organize everywhere, we can win everywhere. And that’s exactly what we’ve done. Democrats have overperformed in 17 of the 18 elections since the inauguration, with big wins in places like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Our momentum is growing.

We have to keep up this fight. And we have some great fighters on our side. You saw that just the other day when Cory Booker took to the Senate floor and held it for 25 hours, in one of the most courageous moral statements I’ve seen in years.

Showing up for the American people. That’s what we need to be doing. With your help, that’s what we will continue to do.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and I’ll have more updates to share soon.
