“I changed my mind after Hickenlooper was held in contempt.”
That’s how one of our newest allies explained his decision to abandon Hick. We’ve picked up support from more than 1,000 Coloradans in the last four days alone.
Ballots hit the mail today. Will you help us keep our momentum going by rushing a donation of $5 or more right now?
This groundswell is a credit not only to our grassroots campaign but also to a baffling series of decisions by our opponent-in-hiding. Last week, John Hickenlooper:
- defied a subpoena to appear before Colorado’s Independent Ethics Commission;
- became the first person to be held in contempt by the Commission; and
- was found in violation of the state ethics law.
Hick’s team is now scrambling to pin the blame on the GOP, but the commissioners who ruled against him include his own appointees. As one of them, a former U.S. attorney, put it: “If we allow this kind of special, privately financed treatment for elected officials, it just accentuates the cynicism in the public.”
Let’s be blunt: Hickenlooper’s misconduct is a huge gift to the GOP.
Handing Hick the Democratic nomination would jeopardize this seat.
That’s a risk we can’t afford.
Will you rush a donation of $5 or more right now and help us reach voters before ballots arrive?
