 March 19, 2025. It was great meeting with EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to discuss Maricopa County air quality regulations and explore how the EPA can implement reforms to help support Maricopa County.

Sun City Posse Open House
  On March 22, I had the pleasure of attending the Sun City Posse's annual Open House, attended by over 300 wonderful people! I had a great time connecting with Posse members, MCSO, Sun City Fire and Medical first responders, as well as the community members. A big thank you to the Sun City Posse for hosting this event and for warmly welcoming the community while showcasing the vital services you all provide.

Sun City Independent: Sun City PRIDES Celebrate Arbor Day with Annual Tree Planting
 The Sun City PRIDES gathered at 105th and Peoria avenues March 11 and celebrated Arbor Day. This annual event is where participants plant trees in the memory of PRIDES who passed in the previous year.

Luke West Valley Council Meeting
I was honored to attend the Luke West Valley Council Meeting at Luke Air Force Base with most of the West Valley Mayors. It's always good to receive an update about what's happening at Luke AFB - the best military base in the country!
SCHOA and PORA Legislative Update
 I had the privilege of giving an update to the Sun City and Sun City West constituents during the joint community meeting sponsored by the Sun City Homeowners Association (SCHOA) and the Sun City West's Property Owners Residents Association (PORA). Thank you SCHOA for hosting and giving me an opportunity to speak to both communities.
Board Approves Settlement Regarding Federal-Only Voters
 On April 2nd, the Board of Supervisors approved a proposed settlement, clearing the way for the County Recorder to help determine if registered voters receiving a federal-only ballot in Maricopa County are indeed U.S. Citizens as required by law. I was thrilled to vote for this settlement on behalf of Maricopa County voters who care about election integrity.
Supervisor Lesko Comments on Library Books
 At our last Board of Supervisors meeting, I made clear that if there are sexually explicit books in the children's section at our libraries, I want them removed or moved to the adult section. I want to thank the public for bringing this to my attention.
Maricopa County Human Services and Public Health Update
 Earlier this month, my colleagues and I received a briefing from the Maricopa County Public Health and Human Services Departments. We are working hard to improve the lives of our citizens.
Environmental Services Department Stormwater Pollution Prevention Contest
 As you can tell, I was happy to see so many poster entries for this year's Stormwater Pollution Prevention poster contest put on by our Environmental Services Department. Each year 3rd-6th grade students within Maricopa County submit posters encouraging stormwater pollution prevention. The Stormwater team and Board of Supervisors will pick the top 3 winners in each category.
Vulture Mountain Recreation Area Renovation
This spring, Maricopa County Parks & Recreation will begin work on Phases II and III of renovations being done to the Vulture Mountains Recreation Area outside of Wickenburg.
Phase I began in 2022 and focused on roadway improvements, utilities, and infrastructure.
Phases II and III will include day-use facilities, such as a nature center, picnic sites, trailhead access, parking, and campground facilities. Construction will likely last through fall 2026.
