A slightly blurred collage of community photos. A march with yellow signs, two people hugging, a meeting, and a person talking on a megaphone are visible. There is a transparent blue overlay and a semi-transparent lighter blue box with the words "Headwaters Foundation for Justice e-newsletter" in black.<[link removed]>

Meet Ricardo, April's Featured Artist
The Headwaters artist calendar
features Ricardo Levins Morales<[link removed]> this month. Ricardo is an artist and organizer based in Minneapolis. He uses his art as a form of political medicine to support individual and collective healing from the injuries and ongoing reality of oppression. He was born into the anti-colonial movement in his native Puerto Rico and was drawn into activism in Chicago when his family moved there in 1967.
Curated by
Sati Varghese Mac<[link removed]>, our 2025 artist calendar features 12 visionary and revolutionary BIPOC artists from Minnesota. Each artist connects their works to the fight for collective liberation, responding to the prompt, "What is your vision for your community in the next 40 years?"
