Friend, there's no way around it: Donald Trump, Elon Musk and DOGE are coming after Social Security. 

This administration simply does not understand or appreciate the importance of this critical program.

Elon Musk recently called Social Security "the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time." 

Howard Lutnick – Trump's commerce secretary and a billionaire himself – recently said in an interview that if his mother missed a monthly Social Security check, she wouldn't complain. And that if someone in a situation like that did complain, they're probably a "fraudster."

Let’s get serious: Contrary to what these guys say, Social Security is a bedrock of our society. The extent to which the Trump administration seems to be completely out of touch with the day-to-day realities of American life is absolutely astounding. They're either out of touch, or they simply don't care.

In any case, this much is clear: Trump, Musk and Republicans are not eliminating government waste. They are slashing and burning whatever they see. Often without even understanding whom they are firing. They're gutting crucial programs like Social Security to make way for another massive tax break for billionaires – all while the American people pay the price.

Cuts to Social Security will cause real and lasting harm for millions of seniors. It's reckless. It's utter incompetence. It's a travesty and a tragedy. That's why we need to send a loud and clear message that the American people will not stand for it.
