Levar was raised right here in Virginia by his father and grandmother, who worked tirelessly to support their family. With their encouragement, he became the first in his family to graduate high school and college. That foundation inspired a career in public service – from Governor Mark Warner’s office to becoming the first African American Secretary of the Commonwealth. Levar always puts people first.
