Campaign win: we've secured a crucially timed debate!

Fantastic news: Andrew Lewin MP, Chair of the UK Trade and Business Commission - set up by Best for Britain - has secured a debate in Westminster Hall on the UK’s trading relationship with the EU, taking place on 24th April. Now we need to make sure your MP attends!

This debate couldn’t come at a more critical time. On 19th May, the summit between Keir Starmer and Ursula von der Leyen will set out the future of our trading, defence and security relationship with the EU. Meanwhile, the fallout from Trump’s trade war is starting to hit incomes, pensions and jobs across the country. 

This is the moment to show the Government the strength of feeling about prioritising our trading relationship with the EU. And it's not just you and I who feel this way. Our latest polling showed three times as many people think that increasing trade with the EU is the best way to respond to Trump's tariffs (43%), compared to those who think we should be cosying up to Trump in the hopes of an exemption (14%).

Here's what you can do:

1. Write to your MP and urge them to attend the debate on 24th April
2. Share our 'Hey MP' tool on your social media, to spread the word
3. Tell your MP in your own words how important this issue is to you

Independent research from Frontier Economics, commissioned by Best for Britain, shows that aligning our trade with the EU could grow the UK economy by 1.5%, particularly benefiting regions like the Midlands and North of England, which are most impacted by current trade friction. 

This debate is a crucial opportunity to demonstrate the widespread support for strengthening our trade ties with the EU. I urge you to take action today and make sure your MP knows how important this issue is to you.
