President Trump is using the pandemic to bulldoze the laws protecting our
country’s environment and wildlife.
Late last week, President Trump signed an executive order that would allow
certain federal projects – including pipelines, highways, oil drilling and
mining – to go forward without the legally necessary environmental reviews that
have been required for decades.
The integrity of our bedrock wildlife protections, including the Endangered
Species Act, is at stake. Defenders of Wildlife is gearing up to fight back!
We need your help to stop this outrageous blitz attack. Please make your
emergency gift to fight for the nation’s wildlife and wild places!

This is a heartless escalation of Trump’s greed-driven attack on animals already
in serious danger. More than 100 critical environmental policies and regulations
that protect our air, water, wildlife and people have been weakened or repealed
by the Trump administration.
This administration’s agenda for wildlife: Drilling in the Arctic National
Wildlife Refuge, stripping gray wolves of federal ESA protections, opening
national park lands to the barbaric killing of bears and wolves, and gutting the
Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
And now, they’re taking the gloves off. If they succeed, the wildlife we love
will face an all-out war on their homes and lives.
Enough is enough. Defend vulnerable animals and habitat from this vicious attack
by Trump’s anti-wildlife administration with your urgent gift!

This executive order comes as more species than ever before face the deadly
threat of permanent extinction. We can’t let this administration take the easy
way out and sacrifice our natural legacy for short-term gains.
When you pitch in today to Defenders of Wildlife, you’re taking an active role
in protecting America’s wildlife and the wild places on which they depend.
You’re joining scientists, litigators and a growing cadre of caring people like
you in saying ‘hell no!’ to over three years of unprecedented loss and
destruction.

In all my years of fighting for wildlife, I have never seen a situation so dire.
We’ve never needed helpers as badly as we do now. I hope you’ll answer the call
to stand up for the wildlife depending on us for survival.
Thanks for all you do.
Sincerely,
Jamie Rappaport Clark
President, Defenders of Wildlife
