I wanted you to be the first to know: I’m officially suing Donald Trump.

Team, when I recently visited the White House, President Donald Trump chose to single me out in a room full of governors from both parties and threatened to unilaterally withhold federal funding from Maine school children unless we fall in line with his personal demands. When I stood my ground, he claimed he was “the law,” never mind Congress or the states.

I told him I’d see him in court.

Now, we've officially filed our lawsuit against Donald Trump for overreaching his authority and illegally freezing funds that go to feeding children in Maine.

I – along with my fellow Democratic governors across the country – will not be intimidated by the President’s threats. We refuse to be bullied. Instead, we’re taking action.

Team, the work to push back against Trump’s dangerous agenda is happening in the states – and Democratic governors have proven they are our last line of defense. So I’m asking you to donate $3, or whatever you can today, to help us elect and reelect Dem govs who will fight for our values and stand up to Trump's attacks.
