Hi John! I’m Mikayla Podesta, Emily’s brand new Political Director.

Like Emily said, we need to be fighting inside AND outside of Congress to fight the unconstitutional Trump-Musk agenda and protect our neighbors. I’m on “Team Outside.” I’ll be organizing here in Washington and channeling our grassroots energy into key races — like our adopted swing district, Arizona’s 6th.

I’ve worked with Emily since 2018, when I was a finance assistant on her first campaign.

She embodies my values, and I feel safer knowing she's representing my interests in the Other Washington.

More recently, I worked at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle — and I’m LIVID that Trump and Musk have cut research for cancer, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, and other diseases that affect millions of our friends and family members.

And what about Republicans in Congress? They’re silent, abdicating their constitutional role as a check and balance.

I joined this team to channel my energy and anger to fight the good fight. That means pushing back against the Trump-Musk agenda and doing whatever we can to take back the House. We need more leaders like Emily who will actually do their jobs!
