Dear John,
The effort to ban travel to Iran is back. Last year, Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) introduced legislation to invalidate U.S. passports for travel to Iran. Thanks to your help, we helped ensure that it did not pass the Senate and become law. Now, the proposal has been included in a new bill that is scheduled for a vote in the House Foreign Affairs Committee tomorrow morning.
NIAC will once again make clear this ban is NOT supported by the Iranian-American community, and we will defeat it again. Message your Congressperson now to tell them to oppose a ban on travel to Iran. [[link removed]]

Donald Trump announced that the U.S. and Iran will engage in talks this Saturday in Oman to find a peaceful solution to the nuclear standoff. If these negotiations succeed, we can prevent a disastrous war on Iran, end the broad sanctions punishing ordinary people, and put Americans and Iranians on a new path – not to bans and bombs, but to engagement and coexistence.
We believe there is now a golden opportunity for peace -- but there are also many spoilers who will be working overtime to tank the talks. To further unpack what’s at stake, we will be hosting a X/Twitter Space this Friday, April 11, at 12 PM ET/9 AM PT to discuss the impending U.S.-Iran talks, what’s on the table, and the serious roadblocks that could still threaten the possibility of diplomatic progress.
Join us Friday for this important conversation >> [[link removed]]
We hope to see you this Friday and will be in touch with further updates as both of these situations develop.
Best,
Jamal Abdi
President, NIAC

P.S. In case you missed it, we discussed the importance of these negotiations last week in the U.S. Senate at NIAC's briefing with The American Conservative's Curt Mills, Center for International Policy's Negar Mortazavi, and our Policy Director Ryan Costello and myself.
