It’s official: the Senate just forged ahead with a dangerous bill that would hand massive tax cuts to billionaires, while slashing over a trillion dollars from programs families rely on to survive.
Now all eyes are on the House where lawmakers are working at breakneck speed to finalize the bill — and while the specifics are still being worked out, one thing is certain: vast cuts are coming, which could mean millions of families lose life-saving Medicaid coverage.
As public opposition grows, Congress is racing to move as quietly and quickly as possible. Which is where we come in: THIS is our moment to overwhelm our representatives with a clear demand: protect Medicaid and reject the dangerous reconciliation bill!
Medicaid is a lifeline for more than 72 million people nationwide, including domestic workers and caregivers who rely on it for critical health services. It provides essential care for seniors, children, and people with disabilities.
But right now, Congress is pushing a devastating budget that could slash $880 BILLION in funding for Medicaid—placing millions of working families directly in harm’s way. And women of color, who make up a significant portion of domestic workers and caregivers, will be disproportionately harmed.
This isn’t hypothetical—it's the terrifying reality our community faces if Congress doesn't hear from us today. These cuts will mean that mothers in our community, working long shifts caring tirelessly for other families, could lose access to essential medical care for themselves and their own children. They will force millions already struggling to make ends meet to choose between health insurance and groceries.
For our families and communities, losing Medicaid coverage is not an inconvenience—it's a potential disaster. The clock is ticking, and lawmakers are moving as quickly as possible to finalize the bill. THIS is the moment we have to overwhelm them with opposition and show that supporting a bill that decimates Medicaid coverage is too politically costly.
