Dear friend, I hope this email find you and your family well. As you know — and as we have pointed out repeatedly — the marijuana industry never shies away from trying to use a crisis to its advantage. The COVID-19 pandemic has been no different. They’ve claimed their highly potent products could prevent/cure COVID-19, they’ve strong-armed governors into keeping their storefronts open, bragged about bringing in record profits, and their supporters in Congress are trying to ram through pot industry wishlist items such as the SAFE Banking act. Now, as many states begin to try and deal with the aftermath of the pandemic, the industry is pushing a narrative that states must legalize marijuana to help pay down immense shortfalls in their budgets. To help push back on this narrative, we have crafted two new one-pagers; one offering talking points on how to push back on this narrative, and another that is an updated version of our “Revenues vs. Realities” one-pager that will also help dispel this notion that pot is the solution to budget deficits. Using this information, we wrote and published an opinion piece in Newsweek over the weekend. Click here to give it a read and let us know if you'd be interested in sending a letter to the editor or op-ed to your local paper. Please share this with your friends, family, and be sure to share it with you elected officials. They need to hear this message from a multitude of voices to help break through he smokescreen being perpetuated by Big Pot and its army of lobbyists. Finally, please consider chipping in to help us continue this fight by clicking here. As you know, Big Marijuana has practically unlimited resources as it is dead set to become the next Big Tobacco. It is up to supporters such as yourself to help prevent this.
