● It’s smart planning. These changes are focused in areas with good schools,
access to transit, and neighborhood amenities — places where new homes can help more people live closer to opportunity, and where there aren’t enough new homes available today.
● It creates options. “Family zoning” will allow homeowners to add space for
aging parents, returning adult children, or even create a small rental unit to help with the mortgage. It will also allow families who rent more neighborhood options so they can be closer to their jobs, kids’ schools, or close community.
