John,
Our nation is facing some of our darkest
moments - unjust and racist actions
toward our fellow men, women and children. Today we write to add our
voice and underscore: Black lives matter.
As you look for ways to navigate
conversations with your children about recent events and race
in America, we're here for you. We know that these aren't easy
conversations to have. That's why we're offering parents and caregivers
this resource: Tips for Talking with
Children About Racism and Social Justice. We hope you'll
use
it to start a conversation - or continue one - to help the children in
your life better understand what is happening around
them.
Another thing you can do for our
nation's
children is
commit to vote. Racial inequities
start in
childhood and have life-long impacts on children of color. And other
economic
and social injustices affect children of all races in every
corner of our country. We must do better for our nation's children and
close these equity gaps. Now, your vote is more important
than ever.
Please, join Save the Children Action
Network -
our political advocacy arm - and commit to use your
power at the ballot box to provide equal opportunities for
our
nation's children. Every last one.
Together we'll continue
fighting injustices. I hope you will join Save the Children and stand in
solidarity with the Black
community.
Sincerely,
