John,
We met Isabella several years ago. She was part of a group of youth going through our Child Trafficking Prevention Program, Not a Number. We noticed quickly that she struggled to stay engaged, and even walked out of some sessions. We know that some of the youth who attend our prevention program may have been victimized, may be afraid to trust and tell someone, and may respond accordingly. We are prepared to understand that these behaviors are a normal trauma response, not a child acting out.

Many months later, Isabella was able to share that she was being exploited by a friend of her family, and she was referred to our Survivor Care Program. Thinking back, she reflected:

“Love146 stayed on my mind. I kept thinking about how you could help. When I met you, it opened my eyes to the reality of human trafficking. Now I know that I’m not alone, and I’m a survivor.”

As she found the strength she needed to begin to trust — she engaged with Love146’s Survivor Care, allowing us to support her on her journey of healing from exploitation. This is possible because of people like you giving what they can, even at small amounts like $10.

Since then, relentless support from people like you has allowed Love146 to dependably be there for Isabella through the ups and downs that are part of any healing journey.

Because of supporters like you, we were even able to help her family with groceries when things got tight.

Isabella recently shared, “Love146 really cares and they never fail to pick me up when I’m down. You made me feel like I was worth it. So many people made me feel worthless, but you helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Every young person is worth it. You can be there every step of the way with Isabella. Would you give to ensure more children, like Isabella, have the support and protection they deserve?

Warmly,

CARLEE MACDONALD
