Trump reportedly planning massive military parade honoring himself on his birthday
The Washington City Paper, citing an unnamed DC source, reports that the MAGA cult leader has chosen June 14, 2025 — the 250th anniversary of the US Army, Flag Day, and definitely not coincidentally also his own 79th birthday — as the day he will finally (FINALLY!) take the training wheels of his dictator-tot-mobile and get his very own, big-boy military parade. Trump famously tried to organize a military parade during his first term after witnessing one in Paris in 2017, but the $92 million price tag understandably raised more than few eyebrows among military leaders and Pentagon officials who were less inclined to placate the autocratic narcissist's every whim and want at the time. With more MAGA sycophants installed and fewer voices of reason at the table, we doubt there will be nearly as much pushback this time around.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Bombshell update on Republican effort to steal election
Brian Tyler Cohen spoke one-on-one with North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Allison Riggs to discuss her ongoing battle with state Republicans, who are brazenly attempting to steal her seat on the bench by throwing out 68,000 ballots cast last November — but curiously only for the state Supreme Court race — in a truly unprecedented assault on a very specific group of North Carolinians' constitutional rights.

Deb Haaland vows to protect us from Trump and his billionaire allies
Deb Haaland for Governor: Deb Haaland has fiercely fought for justice and delivered results for working people throughout her life, be it as an organizer, from the halls of Congress, or as Secretary of the Department of the Interior. She will always refuse to sit idly by while Trump and his un-elected billionaire allies unleash chaos across the country and give polluters free rein to destroy our pristine wilderness. We can help Deb fight back against Trump by electing her to the governor’s office in New Mexico. Will you chip in to help this fierce public servant answer the call to service once again?
Democratic Sen. Brian Schatz expands holds to more than 300 Trump nominees
In a most welcomed development, the Hawaii Democrat is taking a stand against Trump and Elon's outrageous and illegal actions by using good, ol' fashioned legislative obstruction, blocking an additional 50 nominations and a batch of bipartisan foreign affairs bills. While Schatz can't block them forever, the holds will significantly slow down the confirmation process. "Their lawlessness is escalating and they are intentionally destroying the economy, and so I don't think we should make anything easy going forward," Schatz told Axios. No, no you shouldn't! Obstruct, delay, and oppose every 👏 single 👏 thing 👏 at every opportunity until these deranged fascists are out of power!

China says it will "fight to the end" after Trump threatens to impose still more tariffs
China said Tuesday it would "fight to the end" and take countermeasures against the United States to safeguard its own interests after Donald Trump threatened an additional 50% tariff on Chinese imports. China, the world’s second-largest economy, has announced retaliatory tariffs and the ministry hinted in its latest statement that more may be coming. If the MAGA cult leader implements his newest threatened tariffs on Chinese products, US tariffs on Chinese goods would reach a combined 104%. The new taxes would be on top of the 20% tariffs announced as punishment for alleged fentanyl trafficking and Donald's separate 34% tariffs announced last week. Not only will that increase prices for American consumers, it could also give China an incentive to flood other countries with cheaper goods and seek deeper relationships with other trading partners, particularly the European Union. This should totally end well and in no way cripple the US economy or blow holes in ordinary Americans' household budgets.

DACA recipient and Kansas City father of 3 deported to Mexico despite valid documentation
A 39-year-old DACA recipient and married father of three from Kansas City, Kansas, was deported last month after he left the US and traveled to Mexico to visit his grandfather's grave, according to a federal lawsuit filed Wednesday. Evenezer Cortez-Martinez was detained March 23 at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport as he was making his way back home, the lawsuit states. Martinez, who was brought to the US as a 4-year-old child, traveled to Mexico on March 20. Upon his return he arrived at DFW, where US Customs and Border Patrol agents stopped him from boarding his connecting flight home to Kansas City, claiming he had a removal order filed in June 2024. Cortez-Martinez was deported immediately to Mexico City, despite previously applying for and obtaining permission to travel outside of the US through the Advance Parole process, which allows DACA recipients to temporarily travel outside the US and return without a visa.
Supreme Court gives boost to Trump administration's deportation plans under Alien Enemies Act in 5-4 ruling
In a 5-4 ruling on Monday, the Supreme Court's conservative majority threw out a federal judge's decision to block the removal of men alleged to be members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua to El Salvador without any legal process under the Alien Enemies Act. The ruling means the Trump administration can try to resume deportations under the rarely used, 18th-century wartime law, so long as detainees are given due process. The detainees must be given time to challenge their detentions via a habeas corpus claim and be able to challenge whether the act is being lawfully applied. A timely reminder that numerous men rounded up and disappeared to an infamous super-prison in El Salvador by the Trump regime in March have no ties to Tren de Aragua, no criminal records, and no known pending criminal charges. In fact, dozens had active asylum cases at the time of their deportation.

RFK Jr. says he plans to tell CDC to stop recommending fluoride in drinking water
The crackpot secretary for Health and Human Services announced on Monday that the CDC will toss aside decades of established science and stop recommending fluoridation of drinking water while he assembles a task force of health experts to "study" the issue and make new recommendations. Cool, cool, cool. Like measles, cavities are long-overdue for a comeback, too.
ESPN's Stephen A. Smith seriously considering running for president
Among his many, many unforgivable transgressions, Donald Trump has sent a very loud, very unfortunate signal that anyone with a camera, an audience, and strong opinions about basically anything can run for the highest office in the land. Stephen, we love ya, but please don't do it.
US poultry workers fear faster lines will lead to more injuries as USDA will no longer require reports on safety data
The Trump regime will speed up processing lines for poultry and pork meatpacking plants while halting reports on worker safety, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced recently, in a move that workers, advocates, and elementary common sense say will lead to more injuries. It makes perfect sense if your singular priority is maximizing profits and your care and concern for the well-being of the people doing the actual work is threadbare or altogether nonexistent. Trump officials at the USDA said requiring reports on worker safety was somehow "redundant" and pointed to cherry-picked research they claim "confirmed no direct link between processing speeds and workplace injuries." Got that? You can totally speed up the processing of poultry and pork — using instruments and machinery with incredibly sharp blades — to reckless levels and toss aside pesky safety reports and everything will work out *just* fine. Curiously, four people actually working at different poultry processing plants in the US described to The Guardian fast-paced working conditions that compound the risks for injury. They also asked that their names and locations be withheld for fear the Trump regime would revoke their visas for daring to cross MAGA's dear leader. It is so good to be great again.

Well that's just tariff-ic
Doom and doomer
Meanwhile...
Hope...
