It is bittersweet to share our 2024 accomplishments while DC faces unprecedented challenges that will impact the stability of DC families and children for generations to come. But it is also essential to share and celebrate successes in difficult times, to remind us of what we’re able to accomplish together.     

 

For nearly three decades, we’ve met the changing needs of DC children and families, growing and evolving to help them overcome obstacles to their well-being.  

 

Thanks to support from you and the 3,500+ law firms, corporations, foundations, and individual donors who make our work possible, our more than 100 staff – together with DC children and families, community partners and pro bono attorneys – made a difference for 5,265 children and families through individual assistance last year: 


From appeals to class action lawsuits to leveraging new funding to remediate unhealthy housing conditions, we're finding ways to expand our impact through new partnerships and innovative legal approaches addressing systemic challenges.
