This week, the House is voting on a budget resolution that could slash funding for Medicaid and make it harder for people to get Medicaid services. To learn more about the budget resolution and how it impacts Medicaid, check out our full plain language guide about Medicaid in the budget here. [[link removed]] We also made a short video about Medicaid and the budget resolution, which you can watch here [[link removed]].

The Senate already voted to pass this budget resolution on Saturday, April 5th. Now, the House will vote on the budget resolution. If the budget resolution passes in the House, we will have to fight even harder to protect Medicaid in the next steps of the budget reconciliation process. We need to do everything we can to stop the budget resolution from passing in the House!

We need everyone to call their Representatives and tell them to vote NO on the budget resolution.

* You can use our script when you call:

* “Hi, my name is [your name]. I am a constituent of Representative [representative’s last name]. I am calling today to tell the Representative that I am concerned about the House’s Budget Resolution. It calls for $880 billion in cuts. That isn’t possible to do without cutting Medicaid. I am concerned that the resolution does not protect Medicaid from cuts and harmful changes for anyone currently receiving services. Please tell the Representative that I do not want cuts to Medicaid. Any cuts will cause [ your state ] to cut services. I also do not want changes that add more rules to who can get Medicaid, like work requirements or more frequent disability verification. Thank you.”

* You can also tell your Representative more about why Medicaid matters to you.

* You can find out who your Representative is and how to call them here [[link removed]].

* If you need some help knowing what to expect during your call, check out this resource [[link removed]].

* If you can’t make phone calls due to a disability, feel free to use our proxy caller system [[link removed]]!

Thank you for taking action to protect crucial health care and services for the disabled community!
