The Trump administration is unlawfully cutting the federal workforce without due process as thousands of federal workers—including veterans—are being laid off with no regard for the lives upended in the process.

With the largest concentration of federal workers outside of Washington, D.C., these layoffs directly threaten our state’s economy and working families. Since taking office, the Trump administration has fired roughly 23,000 probationary employees, affecting more than 11,000 Marylanders.

These indiscriminate firings ignore federal regulations regarding termination procedures and will impact small counties the hardest, as federal jobs are often the backbone of their local economies.

I refuse to stand idly by while Donald Trump disrupts lives and undermines our state. That’s why I’ve joined 20 attorneys general across the country to stop these unjust firings and reinstate critical workers who were wrongfully terminated.
