Dear Supporters,

Last week, the Texas Senate State Affairs Committee had a public hearing on one of the most important issues of this session: a law that makes it clear that men do not belong in women’s private spaces

SB 240, the Texas Women's Privacy Act, will clarify that women have a right to keep biological men out of their sex designated bathrooms, showers and locker rooms. The law makes it clear that there are only 2 sexes: male and female.

The Texas Values team was joined by a number of outstanding special guests including Brooke Slusser, a female athlete from Texas, and her mom Kim who testified about the horrors and betrayal of having to share a locker room, shower, and living space with a biological male who hid his identity from her!

The hearing last week was a solid first step in making the Texas Privacy Act, law. But, the fight must continue to get the bill sent to the Texas House.

"How could it make sense that a grown man be allowed into a space meant to protect women?" ~ Shiloh Satterfield, who testified on this issue when she was 10 years old in 2017 at the Texas Capitol, and is now a senior at Dripping Springs High School shows her support for the Texas Women's Privacy Act SB 240 by Senator Mayes Middleton.

"We were lied to and deceived. I was traumatized from this situation." ~ Brooke Slusser, Texas Female Athlete, who'd discovered she had been rooming with a male, testifies in favor of SB 240. Brooke is a plaintiff in the AG Paxton v. NCAA case, she and her mother Kim were invited testimony at the capitol. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and several legislators got to hear her story firsthand.

"Women should not have to fear the areas that were created for them." - Kassidy Comer, Texas college basketball player

“No woman should have to go into a locker room or bathroom and be startled by a man approaching her in the woman’s designated space. There have been too many incidents in Texas public buildings and public schools where women and girls of all ages have been forced to undress or be in a vulnerable position with men present in spaces that are supposed to be separated based on sex. It is time for Texas to make the Texas Woman’s Privacy Act law.” ~ Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations for Texas Values, pictured above with supporters.
