EU Proposes Zero-for-Zero Tariff Plan to President Trump
Trump was right. Just the News: The European Union on Monday proposed a ‘zero-for-zero’ tariff plan to the U.S. The offer was made by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, following President Donald Trump last week placing a 20% tariff on the EU… Meanwhile, the EU’s 27 trade ministers met in Luxembourg to discuss the U.S. measures and to come up with an alternative plan ( Just the News). Collin Rugg: The European Union says they’re ready to negotiate with the United States, says they’ve offered zero for zero tariffs. The announcement was made by European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen. “Europe is always ready for a good deal. So we keep it on the table,” she said. Von der Leyen added the EU “offered zero for zero tariffs for industrial goods, … because Europe is always ready for good deal” ( X). Charlie Kirk: The market has quickly reversed, wiping out losses and moving rapidly into positive territory, presumably on news the EU is willing to negotiate zero for zero tariffs with the US ( X).

Fifty-Five Percent of Democrats Believe Assassination Donald Trump or Elon Musk “Somewhat Justified”
HotAir: Fifty-five percent of people who self-identify as left-of-center–so we are not just talking about BLM and Antifa, but plenty of average Democrats, believe that killing Donald Trump or Elon Musk would be at least “somewhat justified.” In other words, if they lose an election, they wouldn’t be unhappy if some nutter took out their political opponents with a bullet ( HotAir). Federalist: The unhinged left, fueled by Trump Derangement Syndrome and seething hatred for Elon Musk, is trending more violent, according to a new study that finds political violence targeting President Donald Trump and his billionaire adviser is “becoming increasingly normalized.” The report, produced by the Network of Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) in partnership with Rutgers University’s Social Perception Lab, finds a broader “assassination culture” appears to be “emerging within segments of the U.S. public on the extreme left, with expanding targets now including figures such as Donald Trump.” Less than a year after assassination attempts on then-presidential candidate Trump and the literally explosive violence against Musk’s Tesla electric vehicles, it’s no secret that leftists are ratcheting up violent rhetoric and actions. The more troubling trend is that an “assassination culture” isn’t just coming from the “fringe” left ( Federalist).

Trump Announces High-Level Nuclear Talks with Iran Set for Saturday
Wall Street Journal: President Trump said the U.S. would hold nuclear talks “at almost the highest level” with Iran in a meeting set for Saturday. Trump said Monday the negotiations would involve direct talks with Iran, but a person familiar with the arrangements said no face-to-face meeting had been agreed upon by Tehran… Whether the negotiations are face-to-face or through intermediaries, they would be the first between Trump officials and Tehran since he returned to office. He withdrew from a previous nuclear agreement with Iran in 2018, during his first term. Iranian officials reiterated Monday, before Trump’s remarks, that they would only agree to indirect talks for now, mediated by a third party ( Wall Street Journal). Trump War Room: POTUS: “I think if the talks aren’t successful with Iran, I think Iran is going to be in great danger. And I hate to say it—great danger—because they can’t have a nuclear weapon” ( X).

Trump Administration Looks to Build New $45 Billion Illegal Immigrant Detention Facility
Washington Examiner: The Trump administration is shopping around for private contractors who can build immigrant detention facilities across the United States, signifying plans for a massive expansion of its deportation operation. In a newly listed request for proposals, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials asked contractors to submit plans for new facilities, security, medical support, and other services for a price tag of $45 billion over the next couple of years. The contract request, reported by the New York Times, was listed last week and could mean a further expansion of the White House’s mission to arrest and remove millions of illegal immigrants in the U.S., a hallmark of the Trump campaign. ICE, which had a total budget of nearly $10 billion this year, according to the outlet, does not have the funding to pay out the $45 billion total. However, Congress is considering a boost of $175 billion over the next decade to the committees that oversee immigration enforcement, meaning that the agency could be receiving a larger budget than previously ( Washington Examiner). New York Times : Immigrant detention is already above capacity, and reports have emerged of overcrowded facilities. Last year, Congress provided funding for ICE to detain a daily average of 41,500 people. As of March 23, the detained population was about 47,900 ( New York Times).

Ukraine Officials to Meet with Washington Officials to Discuss Minerals Deal
Sael News Channel: Ukraine’s economy minister has told The Associated Press it will send a delegation to Washington next week for talks on a new draft of a proposed mineral deal with the U.S. The negotiations mark a renewed push to finalize an agreement that could establish a joint investment fund. Talks had stalled earlier this year after a contentious Oval Office meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The latest U.S. draft is more comprehensive and has drawn criticism from some Ukrainian lawmakers over concerns it could undermine Kyiv’s control of its natural resources ( Salem News Channel).

Supreme Court Backs Trump’s Use of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798
Big win for Trump administration. Townhall: In a significant win for the Trump administration, the Supreme Court granted the president’s request to lift a stay that had been blocking deportations of Venezuelan nationals. This ruling allows the administration to move forward with its plan to expel individuals from Venezuela who are living in the U.S. illegally despite previous legal challenges. The decision is seen as a victory for enforcing immigration laws and protecting American interests as the administration continues prioritizing national security and the integrity of U.S. borders. On Monday, Supreme Court justices ruled 5-4 to grant the Trump administration’s request to lift the stay, in a temporary victory for Trump and his allies. President Donald Trump previously requested the higher court to vacate a lower court’s ruling barring the administration from using a 1798 wartime immigration law, the Alien Enemies Act, to immediately deport Venezuelan nationals, including members of the Tren de Aragua gang, from the US ( Townhall). End Wokeness: The Supreme Court just ruled that under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, Trump has total authority to continue this ( X).

Local Newspaper in Ohio Crops Out Black Republican Lawmaker for Story Critical of DEI
Townhall: It’s not the first time an incident like this has happened. In Ohio, a local newspaper is accused of cropping out a black Republican at a bill signing. The new legislation prohibits local schools from promoting DEI protocols for student admissions and staff hires. Gov. Mike DeWine signed the bill into law, but Ohio House Rep. Josh Williams, who is black, was cropped out of a social media image of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. In January, New York Magazine was raked over the coals for cropping out young black Republicans at an event in Washington, DC on the eve of Donald Trump’s inauguration ( Townhall). RedState Reporter Ward Clark: This is what the Cleveland Plain Dealer did to the photo of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signing a bill barring DEI in education. Before and After ( X).
