President Donald Trump has been sending signals that he believes an economic downturn would be a threat to his reelection. After trying to downplay fears of a possible recession on the horizon, on Monday he claimed that Democrats are trying to bring on a bad economy in order to affect the 2020 presidential contest.
Meanwhile, 2020 Democratic candidates continue to try to break out in the crowded field with campaigning in early key voting states like South Carolina and New Hampshire.
