No other way to put it than that, Richard.

Donald Trump is destroying our economy. The stock market isn’t a perfect indicator by any means, but it is a significant one. A million minds are pricing the future and they are telling Trump’s White House our country is on the wrong track.

No one will be spared the impacts. It’s going to hit whether you’re a senior citizen relying on your retirement income, or a parent buying groceries for your family, or someone fresh out of school trying to get your first job.

Our entire economy is at risk, and it’s because of one person: Donald Trump.

It doesn’t end there, either. On Friday night, we were voting on amendments well past midnight and into Saturday morning. While on the floor, I asked point blank: Can we agree that no one making more than $100 million per year should have lower taxes? Should be an easy answer — NO.

But, my Republican colleagues disagreed. They blocked my amendment and a ton more that would have prevented cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and vital services millions of families depend on. They advanced a budget proposal that would gut those services and give multi-millionaires and billionaires a massive tax break.

That’s the budget Trump told them to pass. These are the tariffs Trump campaigned on. This is the economy Trump wants, and it’s hurting people like you.

I’m going to use whatever influence I have as a Senator to convince my colleagues of that, and to use the power delegated to us in the Constitution to be a check on Trump’s agenda and limit the damage he’s doing to our country.

The stakes are too high to do anything less.

Hold fast, we’ll get through this.
