This weekend was a smashing success! Seattle DSA members and community members knocked on over 1,100 doors talking to voters about Mike’s commitment to defend Raise the Wage Renton and champion transit and housing for all!

Mike Westgaard is running as a democratic socialist in a grassroots campaign against a Chamber of Commerce-backed establishment incumbent. To win, he’ll need OUR HELP!

We’ll be back at the doors this Saturday, April 12th beginning at 11:30am. We’ll meet at Renton Downtown Library l, then head out to talk to neighbors about Mike’s campaign, and gather signatures to get him on the ballot. We will be organizing carpool options; if you need a carpool please enter the relevant information into the Action Network RSVP form.

First-time canvassers are welcome. We will provide a training before the canvass. Please make sure to check the weather forecast and dress appropriately!

Housing Justice Panel & Fundraiser for Be:Seattle

This Sat., April 12th, 12pm-2pm

El Centro de la Raza, Room 107 (2524 16th Ave S)

Housing justice isn’t just about rent-it’s about power, dignity, and tearing down a for-profit system that creates scarcity to keep us in line.

Join Be:Seattle and Seattle DSA’s Housing Justice Working Group for a panel and fundraiser exploring what housing justice really means, how it’s part of the broader fight for liberation, and why solidarity and care are foundations of the movement.

We’re excited to welcome Tracy Rosenthal, co-founder of the LA Tenants Union and co-author of Abolish Rent: How Tenants Can End the Housing Crisis as a keynote speaker and panelist.

Tickets are available for a sliding scale suggested donation starting at $20 (up through $250). No one will be turned away for lack of funds. If you are unable to make a donation, please email [email protected] to RSVP.

Light refreshments will be served. Masking is strongly encouraged.
