ZOA Coalition (Slate #15) is honored and excited to welcome Friends of the Golan Heights to the ZOA Coalition. With this new great addition, plus other recent new members of our slate (S.A.F.E. Campus, Jexit, Jew Hate Database), plus all our wonderful leading groups, the ZOA Coalition now includes the thirty-five strongest pro-Israel organizations defending Jews, Jewish students, Israel-Judea-Samaria and defending Jewish safety.

ZOA Coalition looks forward to working with Friends of the Golan Heights to further our mutual efforts to educate the public about the importance of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan, and to direct funding towards building Jewish medical, security and other institutions in the Golan (in addition to ZOA Coalition’s vital efforts to direct funding to build medical, security and other institutions in Judea-Samaria and decimated southern and northern Israel areas).
Friends of the Golan Heights is a natural for ZOA Coalition. ZOA Coalition was the driving force promoting U.S. recognition of Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights (which occurred during Pres. Trump’s first term); and fighting against the Biden administration’s attempts to weaken that recognition.
The U.S. recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan shortly after ZOA Coalition leader Morton Klein testified in the U.S. Congress that:
- Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights is a key xxxxxx against radical regimes and affiliates that threaten the security and stability of the United States, Israel, the entire Middle East region, and beyond. (Ongoing Syrian warfare demonstrates this again.)
- The Jewish people's long Jewish history in the Golan Heights dates from Biblical times, as demonstrated by numerous finds of ancient Jewish synagogues in the Golan. There were, moreover, extensive Jewish land purchases and farms in the Golan in the 1800s onwards.
- The Golan was included in the original Mandate territory lawfully guaranteed to the Jewish people.
- Israeli sovereignty in the Golan is essential for curbing Syrian attempts to divert Israel’s main water sources away from Israel.
- Israeli sovereignty in the Golan has vital, irreplaceable strategic importance to Israel’s security, including by providing the buffer that prevented the Syrian army from overrunning Israel during the Yom Kippur war; providing essential lookout posts; preventing the constant sniper attacks on Jewish farmers that occurred when Syria controlled the Golan (1946-1967); countering recent Syrian and Iranian incursions into the disengagement zone; and preventing attempted Syrian and Iranian rocket and drone launches into Israel throughout recent years.
