Capitalism is the greatest engine for economic growth that humanity has
ever had.

But to have a strong capitalist economy, there have to be guardrails that
crack down on cheaters and ensure that workers share in the value they
help create.

It is pro-capitalism to have consumer protection. That doesn’t just help
consumers; it protects businesses that play by the rules.

It is pro-capitalism to have unions. Workers are the ones powering our
economy, and we all benefit when workers have a seat at the table.

The foundation of our capitalist economy is fair competition and a stable
business environment. That’s the opposite of what we’re getting from the
Trump Administration.

Donald Trump has emboldened bad actors by gutting the CFPB. His
unpredictable and chaotic tariff policies have shaken consumer and
investor confidence and made it harder for companies to do business—not to
mention raising costs for families even higher than before.

Our leaders should be bringing everyone together—businesses, workers, and
advocates—to solve our biggest challenges.

My top priority in Congress was fighting for what we need for a strong,
stable, globally competitive economy, and that’s continuing to drive me as
I campaign to be California’s next governor.
