Autism Acceptance Month is here, and that brings up the question: what is autism acceptance? It’s more than awareness — it’s respect, inclusion, and real change for our community.

Autistic people have fought for a world where we are accepted not just in words, but in practice. Acceptance is the first step toward change — it lays the foundation for movements that demand access, equity, and justice — but it must come with meaningful action. When we shift the focus from awareness to acceptance, we move away from outdated ideas of cures and causation toward a future where autistic people can thrive as we are.

Help us turn acceptance into real change for our community. [[link removed]]

Autistic people deserve to have our voices heard, our rights protected, and our needs met. Your support [[link removed]] ensures that autistic self-advocates have the tools, resources, and support we need to keep fighting for a better world for all disabled people.

You can be a part of that change today! By standing with us, you help build a future where autistic people have the rights, services, and supports needed to thrive. It allows us to create accessible toolkits that empower self-advocates and fight for policy change that protects our rights. Together, we can shift the conversation away from harmful narratives and toward inclusion, justice, and equity.

Here’s how you can be a part of that change:

* Donate [[link removed]] to support our work directly

* Become a member [[link removed]] and enjoy exclusive perks

* Stream for us on YouTube, Twitch, or anywhere else

* Buy a copy of Loud Hands [[link removed]] or another of our books

* Shop our Threadless store [[link removed]] for stickers and more

* Spread the word! Share our work on social media, by email, or in person

Autism acceptance isn’t just a phrase — it’s a commitment to action. Together, we can build a future where autistic people are included, respected, and supported in every aspect of society.

Thank you for standing with us. We’re grateful for your support this month and every month.

With warm wishes,
The Team at ASAN
