John –
Before the world has had time to gain its balance from the COVID-19 pandemic, we're being suffocated by police brutality and institutional racism. Never before has the need for effective leadership been more dire.
We need leadership that works. We need leaders who are on the front lines, creating policies that help people – not hiding in bunkers.
We need Lucy McBath.
Chip in now to keep Lucy McBath in Congress!
In 2012, Lucy's 17-year-old son, Jordan Davis was murdered in a senseless act that brought our nation to tears. Since then, Lucy has devoted her life to making sure no other parent has to go through the experience of losing a child. After the horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, the deadliest school shooting in modern-day history, she announced her run for Congress and took her advocacy all the way to Washington.
Congresswoman McBath fought a very close race in 2018 to defeat Republican incumbent Karen Handel in Georgia's 6th Congressional District. Karen, who said that "the only reason McBath won in 2018 was because of "emotion" over her dead son, is running again this year and will likely be Congresswoman McBath's opponent.
In Congress, Lucy has proven to be a tough, tireless fighter for progressive values, working families, and protecting our veterans. She's voted to raise wages for working families, has fought for critical environmental protections and increased investment in sustainable energy, and is a strong voice in the House Judiciary Committee.
This week's protests highlight once again how crucial it is to elevate Black leadership in a society that's built to silence Black voices. Lucy is the pinnacle of reform we so desperately need. You can help support her leadership in Congress: make a contribution to re-elect Lucy McBath.
I've already maxed out my allotted contribution limit of $5,000 to help reelect Congresswoman Lucy McBath. Can you help us get a little further by making a donation right now?
Courage,
Earl
