You have a choice, John.

Politics as usual or a new day for real representation.

My opponent is a proud Blue Dog democrat -- a middle of the road conservative who believes not rocking the boat is the best way to keep the peace.

How’s that working out?

There are global protests right now due to police brutality and systemic racism. We have a global pandemic and no guaranteed right to healthcare in the United States. We have unemployment levels not seen since the Great Depression, and some Congresspeople are complaining that people are “making” more through unemployment than they did when working their jobs.

I’m here to say ‘Enough is Enough.’ All of this has to change, and it’s not going to happen by sitting quietly and waiting our turn.

I’m done waiting.

Can you chip in today and help fuel this movement for change?

These protests have already resulted in change. The Minneapolis Police Department is banning the chokehold. There’s a bill in the United States House of Representatives right now that would effectively end qualified immunity, which gives law enforcement legal immunity when using excessive force.

Meanwhile, my opponent’s Blue Dog Coalition is on Twitter talking about investigating China’s COVID response -- a GOP and Trump talking point mainly aimed at deflecting public outrage at our own government’s failed response to the pandemic and more than 100,000 lives lost.

Can you pitch in right now and help me unseat a conservative Blue Dog Democrat?

If Americans make more money being on unemployment than working -- what does that say about the wages people are paid -- and the wages employers are currently legally allowed to pay?

If video footage of murders at the hands of law enforcement are what it takes to make real progress against systemic racism, what does that say about the decades of police brutality gone unseen on social media?

If our president and his Blue Dog allies feel they need to point blame at China for the COVID crisis, what does that say about our country’s own response to the virus?

To me, it says we are done waiting.

I urge you to keep up the pressure with the peaceful protests. Know that you are making a difference, and know that I am standing right there beside you, wherever you are.

In Solidarity,

Eva
