Quixote Center just returned from travel to Panama and Costa Rica.
Please join us on Tuesday, April 8 at 1 pm Eastern Time for a webinar which will shed light on the humanitarian crisis faced by migrants stranded in Costa Rica and Panama due to Trump immigration policies, highlight the legal and systemic barriers deportees and asylum seekers face, and uplift the work of organizations and faith-based groups providing critical aid.
Presentations will include:
* A description of the migration context in Panama and how US policies have impacted Panama and its ability to respond.
* Firsthand accounts and insights on how U.S. policies are impacting migrants, particularly those deported under the Trump administration.
* Provide legal context on asylum rights, due process violations, and challenges LBGTQ+ and other vulnerable migrants face.
* Showcase the role of faith-based organizations and advocates in providing food, shelter, and medical aid to stranded migrants.
* Encourage attendees to support on-the-ground efforts, advocate for policy changes, and engage in tangible ways to help.
