Many Ukrainians living lawfully in the United States received a message from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) saying their humanitarian parole protections was terminated, reports Myah Ward of Politico.

In a statement, DHS clarified that the message was sent in error, and that at this time, parole protections for Ukrainians remain in effect, Ward highlights.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the administration is revoking all visas held by South Sudanese nationals, in response to South Sudan’s failure to accept the return of its citizens whom the U.S. has removed, reports Michael Martina of Reuters

Rubio said in a statement that the revocation will take effect immediately. The administration had announced before that countries failing to promptly repatriate their citizens will face repercussions, including visa restrictions, Martina notes.

Separately, the U.S. Department of Justice argued in an appeals court on Saturday that a federal judge lacks the authority to order the administration to facilitate the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador, reports Michael Kunzelman of the Associated Press

The administration has acknowledged the case was an "administrative error" but insisted that they have no authority to arrange for Abrego Garcia’s return, Kunzelman points out.

Forum Senior Fellow Linda Chavez analyzes the case for The xxxxxx and writes that the deportation of Abrego Garcia "poses a direct challenge to the bedrock principle of the right to due process."
