2005 - First used an inflatable hospital in response to an earthquake in Pakistan. Since then such hospitals have become a staple in MSF’s projects, especially in places where medical infrastructure has been damaged by conflict or natural disasters.

For years, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams have provided emergency medical care to those most in need. Despite the challenges our teams face, we: 2022: Began using artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT), a malaria treatment which cures most infections in three days, in refugee settings, leading to World Health Organization (WHO) to call for it to be integrated into national protocols. 2008 - Piloted community groups to help HIV/AIDS patients in rural regions, which are far from clinics, create support systems for retrieving medications and building treatment routines.

2017 - Developed 3D printed prosthetics for patients undergoing treatment for war wounds in Jordan—which provides inexpensive and timely care in the midst of conflict. 2024 - MSF-led endTB treatments were recommended by WHO. This is a regimen to treat drug-resistant tuberculosis, which is revolutionizing better and more efficient treatment.
