It is time to register new voters in CT. The ones we have just do not get it. It is time to Vote Early CT [ [link removed] ] to counteract the Wanda’s of the world.
After the 2024 elections, the clear next issue that Americans are told to be thinking about is
1) What do the midterms look like; and
2) Will Trump have a sufficient coalition of senators and congressman to continue his efforts before becoming a “lame duck”?
In the meantime, the democrats are forming coalitions and “peacefully protesting” in hands-off events and taking conservative slogans to achieve their goals.
For far too long, we’ve treated elections as solely a local or state-wide events and forget that federal elections have national consequences.
Voters focus solely on local races to the people that show up at apple bobbings, carnivals, local rotary clubs and other events in the neighborhood. What we always forget and overlook throughout the country is that we are the United States of America: 50 autonomous states that work together under a federal rule of law to ensure some harmony between us.
The 2024 elections in Connecticut were abysmal.
“Voter turnout in Connecticut declined from 80% in 2020 to 76% in 2024, with 73% of towns experiencing a decrease. While towns like North Stonington and North Canaan saw an increase by over 10 percentage-points, Bridgeport’s turnout dropped by 20 percentage-points, falling from 72% in 2020 to just 52% in 2024. East Hartford also saw a significant decline, with turnout dropping 15 percentage-points, from 66% to 51%. Hartford’s turnout has consistently declined over the last three elections, from 63% in 2016, to 50% in 2020, to only 43% in 2024.” (source CT Data [ [link removed] ])
Many registered voters simply didn’t show up to vote because they thought their vote didn’t count or matter. More Nutmeggers afraid of their shadow voted during Covid, especially as Bridgeport got by with a little help from their friends like Wanda the ballot stuffer.
Any city that takes a week or more to finish its election results is suspect and it took a while for Bridgeport to certify.
If it’s happening in Bridgeport, it’s happening in other cities like Waterbury Danbury, New Haven, Hartford … Stamford Norwalk. IF YOU HAVE AN ELECTION STORY LET US KNOW.
New Canaan had better turnout from grass roots efforts and during the campaign, we spent a lot of time in that town on our congressional primary and campaign for Dr. Michael Goldstein. This had an impact to the success of the victory of State Senator Ryan Fazio and he also campaigned hard there and the investment of time paid off for the 36th Senate District.
The Base is the Base and that does not move as much.
How Do We Get New Voters or Excite Them?
It’s really the passionate single issue voters that pick up new issues where our focus is needed.
Young voters need to be excited and not indoctrinated or bribed with pizza to commit voter fraud.
Parents want their towns affordable so their children can afford to live in their hometowns if they choose to do so.
Without change of leadership here, the state will continue to decline and its representation in Washington DC is also likely to decline.
Connecticut is likely to lose a congressional seat in the next census and California may lose a few as others like Florida, Texas ans Pennsylvania may gain a few seats.
That may not be the worst thing for CT but it’s reality.
