Happy Pride Month, everyone!

I know Pride looks quite different than past years as celebrations across the country have been canceled or moved online to keep everyone safe.

Even if we can’t be together, Pride is still a time to recognize the advancements we’ve made toward equal rights and reflect on the work that we still need to do.

It’s been more than a year since we passed the Equality Act in the House with bipartisan support to ensure equal treatment under the law for our LGBTQ community.

Add your name to mine and tell Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to take action on this critical measure to ensure equality for all.

In the U.S., we have laws prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sex, religion, race, color, or national origin but not on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. In New Jersey, we have taken steps to correct those gaps and provide full protections for the LGBTQ community, but there are still nearly 30 states that don’t offer full protections.

The Equality Act would ensure no American is fired from their job or evicted from their home because of who they are or who they love.

I support the Equality Act as well as several other measures that would provide protections for members of the LGBTQ community and allow us to better serve them. I’m also proud to have the endorsement of the Human Rights Campaign, which is doing critical work in the fight for LGBTQ rights.

Now, we need McConnell to do his part. Add your name and tell McConnell to take action on equal protections for the LGBTQ community.
