When I ran for governor of Maryland, I centered my campaign around justice. As the former president of the NAACP, I know how badly we need leaders who will prioritize change, reform, and equity.

That's why I'm proud to endorse Nabilah Islam for Congress. We're confronting the hard but important truth that racism is alive and well in America, and we need leaders who will stand against it head-on and fight to move us forward.

Nabilah stands strong against racism, and she knows there's much to be done to prevent police brutality and seek justice for Black communities -- and she won't rest in the fight for reform.

Nabilah knows that there is deep, structural and systemic inequality in our country -- and she understands how inequitable access to healthcare and the lack of a federally established living wage perpetuate that inequality.

She's committed to advocating for Medicare for All, a $15 minimum wage, and so many other policies that will help those struggling.

It's time for a new era of bold, progressive leadership in this country -- and Nabilah must be part of that era.
