John – the onslaught of environmental regulatory rollbacks are starting to take effect. Due to the Trump administration’s attacks on clean air and water standards, we’re looking at the comeback of acid rain, according to the scientist who discovered it in the first place.

This was a problem we had solved decades ago through bipartisan pollution regulations. Before Congress took action, lakes and streams had become too acidic to support aquatic life, nutrients were stripped from soil and trees, and people became sick from poor air quality.

We cannot go back. The acidification of rainwater is a gradual process, meaning we still have time to stop it – but we need to act fast. Will you donate now to help elect climate champions to Congress that will stop Trump’s regulatory rollbacks in their tracks? [[link removed]]

The Trump administration is not concerned about clean air and water for everyday Americans – but our 100 SEEC members in Congress are. They’re pushing back against Trump’s attempts to line the pockets of his billionaire friends and donors by cutting vital safety and public health regulations, and they’re standing up for the planet that we all share.

Here’s a quick refresher on what life was like in the United States before the Clean Air Act:

* Rivers were so polluted that they caught on fire
* Smog blotted out the skies in cities like New York and Los Angeles
* Air pollution damaged people’s hearts and lungs, causing chronic illnesses

We do not want to go back to a world like the one described above, but we need to fight back now. Can you rush a donation today to power the urgent work of our SEEC climate champions? [[link removed]]
