1071 Bill Passed Financial Services Committee

My 1071 Repeal to Protect Small Business Lending Act passed out of the Financial Services Committee. This critical legislation will put a stop to the excessive and unnecessary collection of personal information from small business loan applicants, safeguarding entrepreneurs from intrusive reporting mandates. It is time to make small businesses great again and put an end to overly broad, burdensome, and difficult to implement rule-making. I look forward to bringing this bill to the House floor for a vote.

House Committee on Small Business Hearings

Tuesday, I led a hearing on unleashing Main Street through deregulation. As a small business owner, I know firsthand the consequences of stifling regulations. The Trump Administration has already made progress in removing some of the most harmful regulations imposed on our nation’s small businesses by the Biden Administration. As Chairman, I am dedicated to continuing to create solutions that will unburden Main Street. Watch my opening statement here.

The Golden Age of Main Street

Under the leadership of President Trump, the U.S. economy added 228,000 new jobs in March. For the first time in four years Main Street is hopeful, and business owners feel confident enough to hire new employees, raise wages, and invest in their businesses. As Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business, I will continue the fight to decrease government bureaucracy, cut red-tape, and prioritize American manufacturing. I look forward to four more years of American-made success.
