Hi there ––
Special Olympics is proud to help improve the health and well-being of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). People with IDD live on average 16-20 years less than those without IDD. Why?
Because they are not getting the medical screening, diagnoses, and care that they need. But, it doesn’t have to be this way.
We believe every individual deserves access to high quality, respectful, and timely health care. Special Olympics alone has screened over 2 million people with IDD for preventable and treatable health conditions.
Will you help us do more?
Together, we can create a future where people with ID receive the care and respect they deserve.
Thank you for standing with us,
Dimitri Christakis, Special Olympics
Chief Health Officer
