Dear Friend,
I am pleased to invite you to a virtual conversation with leading Iranian-American women building political power on Thursday, June 11 at 5-6pm PST. We will be featuring Yassamin Ansari , candidate for Phoenix City Council, Shireen Ghorbani , Salt Lake County Council Member, and Nilofar Ganjaie , moderator and NIAC Action Board Member.
With national protests centering around race and police violence, it's important now more than ever to host a conversation with women running for local races to highlight the true impact electing women of color has on protecting civil rights. Especially when national policy tends to mirror those already implemented on the local level by cities leading the way on these important issues.

These trailblazing women will be discussing what it takes to run for office, grassroots campaigning, the importance of running for local office and why we need to recruit more Iranian-American women candidates.
Iranian-American women have become more politically engaged since 2018, a trend NIAC Action is committed to building upon in the 2020 cycle and beyond. We hope this conversation will give further insight into what has motivated women in the Iranian-American community to run for office and how they plan to win this year.
Make sure to RSVP here [[link removed]] to receive the Zoom webinar link for this event.
Sincerely,
Arzo Wardak
Political Director, NIAC Action
