Friend --
We’re chipping away at a path
forward and are inspired by the millions of people around the country
and around the globe that are willing to take to the streets and
fight against injustice.
TODAY at 2:00pm ET, join us for Sunday Brunch with Higher
Heights hosted by The Sip on Facebook to continue the conversation on
taking action in this fight with special guests,
New York State Attorney General, Tish James and Cook
County State’s Attorney, Kim Foxx!
From the new Black
Lives Matter Plaza in DC thanks to Mayor Muriel Bowser to last Tuesday’s election of the
first Black Mayor of Ferguson, MO, Ella
Jones—Black women are
stepping up to take the actions necessary to speak up for Black lives
and equality in this country.
This past week, #TheSip brought
together some very special guests to have some tough but necessary
conversations to tease out the direct actions we need to take to show
up in this moment and inspire change.
The Sip Power Hour Lunch on Wednesday tackled the attack on Blackness, the global
uprising demanding change, the state of emergency of our democracy and
the need for us to control the narrative by telling our own
stories—our guests included; Andrea Jenkins, Vice-President,
Minneapolis City Council, Danielle Belton, Editor-in-Chief, The Root,
Cassia Herron, Chair, Kentuckians For The Commonwealth, and Sadiqa
Reynolds, President & CEO, Louisville Urban League.

We closed the week with a
very special The Sip on Friday in conversation with Senator Elizabeth Warren on how to go
beyond being an ally
by taking action as a true co-conspirator.

Today’s The Sip Sunday Brunch with Higher Heights edition
at 2:00pm ET will continue the conversation and unpack the demands to
transform the criminal justice system.
Special Guests:
- Tish
James, New York State Attorney General
- Kim
Foxx, Cook County State’s Attorney
