In a minute, I’m going to ask you to [ [link removed] ]make your first-ever $5
contribution to our grassroots campaign for New Mexico.

First, I hope you’ll let me show you some of the places where I’ve rocked
my mocs.

day I was sworn in as Secretary of the Interior.

On the day I was sworn in as Secretary of the Interior, I decided to wear
my white moccasins and a handmade ribbon skirt adorned with butterflies,
stars, and corn. No matter where I go, I am a proud Pueblo woman first –
including at the Department of the Interior.

When I wear my mocs, I'm reminded of how powerful our traditional clothing
is to our shared heritage. On the first day of the White House Tribal
Nations Summit in 2021, I wore my beaded moccasins in solidarity with our
Indigenous people across the country. I am incredibly grateful that
together, our Administration made extraordinary accomplishments for Indian
Country – enduring progress that would make our ancestors proud.

From my ancestral homelands here in New Mexico to the halls of Congress
and everywhere in between, I rock my mocs to honor the people whose
shoulders I stand on. History has shown us there’s nothing we can’t
accomplish when we work together, which is why I’m counting on the support
of people like you as we fight for a New Mexico that works for everyone.

No state in America has ever elected a Native American woman as governor.
