“I rise with the intention of getting in some good trouble.” Those are the words Sen. Cory Booker spoke as he began the speech that broke the record for the longest Senate floor speech in history — referencing Georgia’s very own Rep. John Lewis. And I believe John Lewis would be incredibly proud to watch as Sen. Booker’s protest against Donald Trump’s extremist agenda broke a record previously held by someone filibustering against the Civil Rights Act of 1957. Sen. Booker’s good trouble made HISTORY, and now, we need to show our appreciation for his unwavering commitment to defending our democracy.
