Donald Trump has given Elon Musk unprecedented power over the federal government. And with that power, Elon Musk has created absolute chaos. 

After the deadliest commercial aviation disaster in years, Elon Musk fires hundreds of FAA personnel. While scientists race to prevent a bird flu epidemic, Elon Musk guts the FDA and the CDC. While too many Americans struggle to make ends meet, Elon Musk threatens massive cuts to Medicare and Social Security.

We need to hold them accountable. 

So earlier this week, I introduced a bill that would require Elon Musk and his DOGE employees to pass a drug test and undergo random drug screenings to keep their Special Government Employee status.

We all know Elon Musk has a well-documented history of drug use. He is known for making erratic, self-serving decisions. So if he’s going to be trusted with our government’s most sensitive information, including your personal data, he’d better meet the same standards as any executive branch employee. It’s the bare minimum. 

Team, there’s nothing more important to me than keeping New Jerseyans safe — and as governor, I won’t be afraid to stand up to anyone putting us in harm’s way. Not even Donald Trump or Elon Musk.

But GOP candidates like Bill Spadea or Jack Ciattarelli won’t say a word about the massive risk that Elon Musk poses to New Jerseyans — they’re too busy kissing up to Donald Trump. And that should worry all of us.
